Make your own laser cutter?! Sounds wired?! The Egyptian team from icealex which is part of the “ice” network showed how it works! At the Berlin based conference re:publica14 #rp14.
Make your own laser cutter is part of the idea of the so-called “maker culture”. The maker culture is a new Do-It-Yourself culture which develops innovative products and prototypes with the help of modern technology. The goal is to solve technical problems with existing resources.
The ice network which is based in Cairo, Alexandria, Addis Ababab and Weimar supports young inventors with technical equipment such as 3D printer, CNC tools or laser cutters. But they also organize workshops on how to make your project come real!
The SciTech crew was there to cover the event and meet the Egyptian inventors!
